Twin cam engine, Miles Wilkins built + machined. UNUSED

Possibly the last time you will see an ad like this!
This is a twin cam engine prepared by Miles Wilkins six years ago, and stored since then.
Still coated in graphogen etc!
The head and block are built up but the rest needs doing so it can be easily inspected to show the quality of the work.
It was to be for my car but there has been a change of plans.
Numbered 681F6015-A with a 1 stamped after the A and something before the hyphen. Photos available.
The head has been machined and built up by Miles Wilkins and converted to unleaded. This all cost just over £2500.
The block was also machined and built up by him, re-bored to +30 thou, QED pistons cleaned pressure tested and new bearings. The crank, con rods and pistons have been fitted by him and gapped, greased etc. It moves perfectly freely.
Block work cost £1883
Then there is everything else too. A rebuilt water pump.
A Sump with a good repair, in grey.
Red cam cover.
Jack shaft
clutch and cover (I have not opened this so do not know about clutch condition, hopefully new but presume old.
New spark plugs.
New oil seal
New timing chain
New pipe linking head to block
New gaskets
New complete set of labeled nuts and bolts.
Oil pump and fuel pump, cam sprockets, tensioner, new head semi circular inserts.
New GKN head bolts.
Pricing is difficult but considering it has been prepared by the man who literally wrote the book, is tested and ready to go, and that 'barn find' seized un tested engines go for over £6k and that I have invoices for £4704, I thought offers over £10K . All paperwork and further receipts available.
If that seems too much, please note the money is being used to help a Ukrainian refugee mother and son (Lika and Timur) so dig deep. That said any money is better than no sale so all offers will obviously be considered!
I can send photos of everything if you supply me with an e-mail address, I am unable to post them here.

I'm not quite sure I get "still coated in graphogen" and "tested" ...

The 'coated' refers to the run in or building lubes used by Wilkins that are still present and waiting.
'Tested' refers to the pressure tests done by him as referred to in the paperwork copied in the photos available to any serious enquiry.
I most certainly am marketing it, here first as I simply like to do it that way to give forum members who have helped me first shout. I actually hope to sell it too!
As Mr. Wilkins shut up shop some years ago I really would be surprised if you do see more adverts for his unused but finished work like this. For the sake of us Elan owners I would happily be proved wrong!
I hope that helps, any more questions, please just ask, bon chance...

I am raising money for a very good cause, for people that I know deserve the money but not their misfortune.
For them, this sale means a lot.
For me the sale also means a lot as my heart bleeds for them, they are genuinely nice people and not smart arse armchair trolls.
If all you can do is make snide, supercilious comments about what is for sale or perhaps focus on your incredible observations about building lubes, perhaps you could try and swallow another whole orange instead and let this sale continue without your sarcasm.
Please.
You can dislike me for whatever reason but ffs do the right thing for a young family needing help.

Good post Bitsilly, and I would say a very fair price for what you are offering. I hope you and the people you appear to be acting for get a good result.
Where, then, lies the answer? In choice. Which shall it be: bankruptcy of purse or bankruptcy of life?

The price is now down to £8000
It is of no use to us just sitting there!
I really don’t want to put it on eBay as they will keep 12.5%
Please spread the word if you know anyone who might be interested.
Thanks

Still for sale.
Anyone needing a twincam rebuilt will need to spend a few bob, probably around £6K.
7 years ago, this engine had a rebuild costing over £5K by an expert and prices have not gone down.
The number of people skilled in doing twincam work has gone down, and their waiting lists have gone up.
Unchecked engines, or perhaps your own engine may have block or head cracks or other issues.
However, I'm not getting any younger, and my guests are not able to afford their own place, so I am sweetening the deal.
There is a matching pair of newly rebuilt delortos now included with a decent distributor and a couple of other peripherals.
Priced at £7000 the lot.
