Elan & Plus 2 High Torque Starter Motors - RESERVED!

I have 2 low mileage High Torque Starter Motors in good working order for the Elan & Plus 2 ... one is a Kelsport ( which I think retails around £280 ) , the other one I think came from Paul Matty ( can`t remember now ) ... £150 each .

I prefer collection with a good rummage thru` the rest of my Elan spares ... all surplus ones have to go !

As most sane folk are asleep at this time I’ll answer - he’s in Retford, Notts.

Tony , as Steve says , I`m smack in the middle of the country near Retford , just off the A1 north of Newark ... very easy to get to , even have the main Kings Cross train line !

I do have a plus 2 steel wheel in good condition , along with a plus 2 airbox ( fibreglass part ) & a pair of plus 2 driveshafts ... my prices are guides & I`m very happy to do a discounted "job lot" to any fellow enthusiast , before the trade step in , or dreaded ebay !

Sorry Hal ... original plus 2 driveshafts ... I also have a plus 2 ( or Elan ) steering rack (little mileage since recon`d ) , just needs a check & clean ... most of my other spares are later S3/S4 Elan ...

Hi Mark ,

I have the original installation instructions for the Kelsport one .... but I don`t think there is much more I can tell you ... these were both on my Elans but I`m just the oddball who prefers the clinky , clanky sound of inferior original starters ... even though these High Torque Starter Motors are apparently much more efficient , especially in cold weather where the ignition & coil then won`t need a ballast resistor system .
