S3/S4 Window motor upgrade kit

I have kits that include the unique parts required to bolt in a modern window motor in place of the classic wiper motor used originally used by Lotus. The kit fits any S3 or S4 without any modification to the door or wiring.

The kit consists of enough parts to do both a left and right door that includes the sheet metal brackets, the drive adapters and the connectors for the motor. The kit does not include the window motors or any of the bolts/washers. The cost of the kit is $210 US. Typical cost of the window motor is ~$50 per motor or less.
If you wish to order a kit, please send me a private message and I'll respond with paypal information. Kits are on the shelf ready to ship.

For those of you interested in weight, the kit saves about 1 kg or 2 lbs of weight per door.

Here are some pictures of the sheet metal brackets which are zinc plated and with the window motor installed in the door.

Attached are the installation instructions which include the part numbers for the window motors which should be available worldwide as they are from a world car from GM, the Aveo/Sonic.

I have now installed the window kits on both of my windows and very pleased with the results. Gone is the laborious and slow window movement (even with new window guides, cables, pulleys, and use of relays). Now the windows move smoothly and at a speed you find on modern cars.

I also employed a one-touch module, to have the switches activate one-touch up/down. With this module no need for the relays I had previously fitted.

Is there a UK available equivalent window motor available?

The GM motors you list are all ex. USA and carry import duty and delivery delays

The one pictured looks similar to a Ford Fiesta type available here in the UK?

Or alternatively can you 3Dprint alternative adaptors, to readily fit a UK sourced motor, perhaps the Ford Fiesta type?

Thanks,
Phil

After buying a kit from Michael I searched in vain for a UK version of the motors. Being GM I thought there might be a Vauxhall application, but I couldn't find one. I eventually bought a pair (brand new) via Ebay from a US seller. Cost me £87.00 inclusive and they arrived within two weeks. Search for Dorman 742-087 and 742-088.

Making a different drive adaptor (to fit e.g. a Fiesta motor) won't work because the motors mount via an adaptor plate, designed to fit the Dorman motor hole spacings and motor height.

I've yet to fit my kit but it is very well engineered and in addition each motor weighs half that of the original.

Interesting, I guess Wikipedia is not completely correct. The page for the Sonic/Aveo states that the car was solid in Europe under the GM name until 2014 which should have included models that had these window motors. that was one of the reasons to select that motor to cover anyone anywhere. In the US, both original GM & Dorman units are readily available. Sorry for the hassles.

I suppose for those in the UK, I could offer to include the motors and maybe fudge things to reduce the VAT.

I know of their headlights electrical conversion kit, but not of a window motor conversion kit...
