Making hubs and stub axles

PostPost by: knockoffnut » Thu Feb 25, 2021 7:16 pm

hi all,
I am getting ready to make some hubs, and possibly some stub axles, and wondering if anyone else out there is interested in any of these? I am planning to make some aluminum 4 bolt front hubs, and some knock-on front and rear hubs in both aluminum and steel. I will be making some for myself and I am just testing the waters to see if there is interest.

That is indeed interesting, esp. for the rear as I've seen some front similar attempt (no affiliation)

One should note that the best alloys probably need to be used, as demand for this is most likely motivated by performance expectations, hence racing stress is to be expected...

Hi
Front bolt on alloy hubs readily available in uk, thru various triumph specialist.
I would be interested in a set of bolt on rears in steel, in either triumph or Ford PCD
Have you access to CNC machining facilities?
Thanks

Hi before you rush you make them, Merlin motorsport sells a high quality aluminium front hub, with choice of PCD and will also supply and fit wheel studs of choice. I've uded these on Elan and Formula race car.

Front stub axles there are a plethora of suppliers of both standard and ENB40 stub axles.

Rear hub axles etc as others have pointed out there are sources out there, with high quality offerings and frankly reasonably priced.

No affiliation, but check them out as they are well priced and available form stock.

Seller, lemans, on UK eBay has alum bolt on hubs, Spit & Lotus, 260UK. Also RED 4 pot calipers and vented disc! And for you 7 owners a nice pair of Alfin alum finned rear brake drums only 280UK for the pair rather than the 60 UK for steel ones.
