I've just listed my Elan gearbox on Racecarsdirect - see here: https://racecarsdirect.com/Advert/Detai ... cortina-et

Lightweight casing with all the best bits but I can't use it in this spec so it is having to be replaced with something more standard :?

Too bad you're not in the states. That would be a pretty good deal. Still a good deal, for someone local.

Earlier this year I shipped a Voigt 5-speed gearbox from UK to California for 156 pounds cost with TransGlobal Express. The Voigt gearbox is heavier than the gearbox for sale in this post so might even be cheaper.

Packed in foam in a box. Packing not included in cost.

Sure seems like FIA should just apply a weight penalty? John

FIA does not accept anymore magnesium main casing or dog engagement, so a number of gearboxes in Europe are facing a major rebuild...

Looks like the gearbox will be going to the States.

Just have to work out the best shipping method.

Proves that this forum works for like minded enthusiasts. Thank you Tim

https://www.transglobalexpress.co.uk/

They use mainstream shippers (DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc) at much reduced cost. Streamlined online process including customs clearances.

No affiliation. Satisfied customer.
