Anybody know anything about this car or the seller? His feedback is nothing special or his hype.

The seller is a car/parts flipper. His stuff is generally way overpriced.

Except it's an auction...
I find it odd that he says the engine is mint but has no oictures of it.

but he does have good stuff. He bought a project car from me once. flipper or not (speaking from experience
) just ask questions, look over the pictures, request additional info/pix as necessary, and go from there. It is what it is... be a smart shopper and bid accordingly

I know the seller well. He buys lots of Lotus & Alfa Cars & Parts. I?ve purchased many Lotus parts from him over the years and he has done the same with me. Good guy, is fair but knowledable about the value of what he has. He has had this S2 for a while and finally got it assembled (from various cars) and painted. If you want an S2 that is below market then this is the one you might want. If you want more info, just contact him.

Just to clarify, I did not say THIS CAR was overpriced , I said his stuff was generally overpriced. Having watched his BIN auctions for many years, I stand by that. This car has been for sale BIN several times, no sale.
I have dealt with him, he was no problem to work with.
Ted, I consider you to be pretty fair about price.

In the last photo on the ebay site, it seems to me the car is crying...

BTW, I've asked the seller about the condition of the front turrets and a couple of other things and, as of now, no reply.

Kurt,
i think it sold to a dead beat Ebayer for $25K. That's a pretty cheap/inexpensive S2 Elan in my book.

The sentence is:
"1964 Lotus Elan S2 1.6L Twin Cam Weber engine in mint condition."
I'm pretty sure that he's saying that the entire car is in mint condition. It does look pretty nice. The chassis number is an S1 (if the numbers at the Elan Registry are accurate) but that's an S2 dash... and it's badged 1600 so I think the seller is just confused.
The cloth seats and weird shift boot and plate look a bit odd... to say nothing of the Webers being painted black... but overall definitely in better shape than my S2!

Actually, what in the world are those things attached to the front of the cam cover, as seen in this photo?

That looks downright weird.
