Lotus Elan

Stromberg head et al

PostPost by: gherlt » Wed Sep 05, 2018 3:14 pm

From a guy who bought these parts new or refurbished for his S4, and a few from my garage clear out.

Stromberg head, vgc
2 steel wheels (1x KO, 1x bolt-on)
Spyder chassis NOS, 20 years old
Full wiring S4 NOS (not sure if there is a variant)
---> edit: my error ! these looms are +2 main and rear and +2 S/S130 main, rear and dash !
Water pump (used)
edit:
2 Stromberg carburators (used, one is missing the "tank" )
Stromberg airbox (used)
track widener NOS

I will do a trip from Tarragona to Bristol, on 18th September. I can bring the things along en route, if not too much delay and at a time ... In the UK it will be late or very late ...

Or collection in Bristol, at Buckland's home. Easiest for all, and a chance to know the great Elanman ...
Pictures follow

Hello Guillermo,

I'd be interested in a S4 harness (preferably alternator version though no big deal if price is right) so looked at the photos, but was a bit puzzled by the 857 858 859 numbers which match +2S and S130 versions at Autosparks, rather than S4 :

https://www.autosparks.co.uk/857-lotus- ... rness.html
https://www.autosparks.co.uk/858-lotus- ... rness.html
https://www.autosparks.co.uk/859-lotus- ... rness.html

are you positive that yours indeed fits an S4 car ? thank you

Hi,

I would like to buy the pair of adapter blocks for the Stromberg carburetors. I do not need the carbs, just the adapter blocks if you are willing to sell them separately. They are the ones shown in your pictures
IMG_20180905_172441_732 and 733.jpg.

I do not see the balance pipe, but no problem if is missing as I can easily make one.

I am in the USA and would be happy to pay the shipping cost from either Spain or the UK.

I need these to 'de-Federalize' my Elan +2 engine which has the secondary throttles and cross-over pipes to the exhaust manifold.

Thanks

Mike

Hello Nic,
you and user elated made the same comment, and "afterwards" I have to say, all 5 numbers are Autosparks +2 references:
+2 main wiring (852, https://www.autosparks.co.uk/852-lotus- ... rness.html)
+2 rear wiring (854, see https://www.autosparks.co.uk/854-lotus- ... rness.html)
+ 2 S & S130 Main Wiring (857, see https://www.autosparks.co.uk/857-lotus- ... rness.html)
+ 2 S & S130 Dash Wiring (858, see: https://www.autosparks.co.uk/858-lotus- ... rness.html)
+ 2 S & S130 Rear Wiring (859, see https://www.autosparks.co.uk/859-lotus- ... rness.html)

Sorry for the confusion !

Send me a picture so I know what to look for. The box is full of items, engine parts, a bit if a mess but I can look it up.

It is the small straight tube marked 5 (and 6) that connects the two adapter blocks as in the attached picture from the parts list.

Thanks

Mike

As has been asked, Stromberg head has height of 117mm, picture added to Google.

Also available:
2 air filter canister (both original AC, one very solid, one less so)
distributor 23D4, NOS

Hello Mike, I think I found one tube, please take a look at the google photos album.
There is caliper gauge on the picture, so you can check if that is the one you need.
The diameter is OK, it enters the side hole perfectly.
regards
Guillermo

Should the previous enquiry come to nothing I would be intersted in the airbox too.

Thanks
