Rear under suspension a pair aerodynamic plates

I had a rusty set that came with my 73 Plus 2S 130/5. They had been removed by the previous owner and never refitted. They rattled around my garage for 20 years before I finally threw them out figuring they were too rusted to ever reuse and I could make some if I ever wanted to refit. i always understood they were dirt shields for the brakes but never really understood the need for them a.nd they sure did not help access for inspection of the donuts.

cheers

My 130s still has them fitted with 4 quick release bolts. 2 mins aside to remove. They are heavy though and i cannot understand why they were not made of aluminium.
IF EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE GOING WELL, YOU HAVE OBVIOUSLY OVERLOOKED
SOMETHING.
