Funny that a post on reg's has come up. Incidentally, i love these posters that just use the site as an advertising board, nothing constructive to say, dont hear from them again. And others with many more posts, that do the same!

Hey Jeff, what about only making adverts available to members that have more than 10 posts. That would stop USERS from USING your great site.

I digress. I bid on the registration ELAN last month, but was outbid. Did any barst..d on here win it?

I don't think I would agree with you there Leslie, there are genuine cases where some one wants to sell an Elan (example deceased estate/inherited) or for whatever reason they want to get rid of a car as they are not interested in Lotus.....what better place than so it becomes available to interested parties.
I do agree that the forum should not be turned into a FleaBay or just used as market place just for profit but not sure how that could be achieved.

The effervescent Malcolm Ricketts has ELA 111 on his Sprint. Two appropriately placed black plate screws make it look like ELAN 1.

No offence, but would anyone seriously pay ?5000 for something like that? My car is already an Elan, nicely spelled out in chrome too, I seriously cannot fathom why I'd want my plates to kinda, maybe resemble the same for the price of an engine rebuild and a very nice holiday.
