Coupe headliner mod

As headliners are an active topic I will throw this out there: What about a one piece fiberglass headliner?
I ordered a new cloth one to use with the bows, but it took months to get here and all the while I was stressing about pulling the glass and all that stretching and glueing.
So I made this piece using the roof as a mold. It fits well enough, but it weighs 4 lbs so I'm thinking about making a lighter version using this as the mold. The plan is to cover it in foam backed off-white perforated vinal. I think it will look pretty good, just not in that concourse kind of way. Oh, I should mention; I'm pretty sure this route isn't any easier than the rods.

what would be the point, imprinting a pattern into the mould? because if it's only to make a cleaner appearance without caring for originality I'm sure that glueing some modern fabric made for that purpose (some have a foamy backing already) would be quick and looking just as good...
