Conversion to four stud wheels

Gents.

I'm soon to pick up my wheels from Alan aka Spyder fan.

So I've done a bit of looking around and I can keep the front suspension as per lotus but with a Canley conversion to an alloy hub that allows me to fit the Ford stud wheels and also if i wanted some uprated brakes,at a later date.

That's the front dealt with.

So for the rear, is anyone aware off a simple type conversion that can keep as much of the lotus as possible and just change a hub, or would I be better of swaping to a Ford/spyder full rear conversion.

I want to use bolt on wheels and not the center lock wheels.

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Thanks

Are they a direct replacement for the lotus hubs?

What did you do for the fronts?

I am looking for a plus 2, should have mentioned before.

TTR sells bolt on rear hubs to the Lotus Elan dimensions with the Triumph 3 3/4 inch PCD of the studs.

I you want 4 inch PCD Ford hubs for an Elan you would need to special order or get them redrilled to suit. The Plus 2 rear hubs have a different offsetthe Elan to accommodate the wider wheels and I am not aware that anyone makes a larger offset rear bolt on hub for this purpose . Perhaps Spyder do as part of their Spyder rear suspension package that will also fit the standard Lotus suspension and tapered drive shaft.

cheers

Thanks,

I got a response back from TTR and they said I would need a spacer to get correct off set. But it would fit.

I could try fitting the Spyder / Ford complete rear end and Canley front end to keep the lotus front suspension.

If you fit the TTR hubs then the spacer could be used to go between the Triumph and Ford PCD maybe, if there is enough meat to bolt the spacer on then bolt into it 90 degrees round?

The Caterham ally front hubs could fit the Canley spindles if you get the right diameter ones.

Hi
I have fitted "baby" bolt on rear hubs and triumph front bolt on hubs, on my plus 2
Upgraded to M12 studs (Land Rover Freelander)
Running 14x5.5 mini lite replicas with 175/65/14 tyres
Only downside is I req' 10mm spacers on the rear , which I'm not completely happy with
Keep wondering about comisioning a engineering company to make some bespoke with the drive flange offset further out - but there always seems to be something more urgent to sort on the car- joys of lotus ownership
Hope this is of some help
Regards
Mark

Mark.

I'm pretty much looking at that as an option using Ford patterns.

It would be good for a special hub made to suit. I'd be interested but I have no idea where to start.

I think to get a Ford pattern on the rear you would be best getting a std Elan rear hub and getting it redrilled and run a spacer if its only a 10mm offset change.

Unless you can find a supplier who already has the details and can make the taper it would be very expensive to make a pair I reckon.

Am assuming the hubs are cast steel. If so there would be no problem welding them up and making about any thing you want.
