Just a couple of other bits of weight data if you are transitioning from a standard 11/16 ARB to a tubular one:
1. Tubular 22mm is 2.4lbs lighter than standard (but 1.6x stiffer)
2. Tubular 1" is 0.8 lbs lighter than standard (but 3x stiffer)

Thanks for all the info. Since I live in an area that gets a lot of rain and because I have bad memories of struggling to change the ARB on my 26R I think I will go with the 13/16th bar-or tubular equivalent.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the info on the Mustang rack stops.
Can you please let me know which model Mustang these stops relate to as I will most likely have to get them from the USA unless they are from the current models which are available in Aus.
Thanks again
Rob

Hi Guys,
I had a probate settlement so I've addressed the engine in my horsey 308, which is now with my engine builder, MWE. I'm using the sleeves from a 328 and the crank from a 360 to boost displacement from 2.9 to 3.4 liters, on 40DCNF's (but likely with bigger chokes. CR goes from 8.8:1 to a target of 10.2:1, larger intake valves with a 0.423 inch lift, short duration cam, same same programmable ignition as I use on the my Elan engine
I heard from Ken at DBE who tells me he is working the rack stops the same length as for the S3-Sprint. The S3-Sprint length rack
There's been a lot of discussion on front anti roll bars. What about a blade type or maybe a tubular center with solid ends, through the bends. A stiffer central tube with standard ends, would increase the overall anti roll bar spring rate,

Bill, I assume you have seen this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65mCfloU4hwNow we know why there have been no updates on the Elan!

Hi Davidb,
Thanks for the link. I love Dinos.
Ken Gray, of DBE, notified me my rack rebuild is ready for shipment. I'll wait until after the holidays to have it shipped. Ken says it came really really well.

Bill, don't know if you've seen my postings in parts wanted, as I am after a LHD rack as well.
Looks like you did what I am considering; take a Spitfire rack, replace the tie rods with the shorter lotus ones & add spacers?
Where did you get the Lotus Tie rods? Did Ken supply them?

Hi Phil.
Sorry, I didn't see your post in Parts Wanted. Ken supplied the new tie rods and made the spacers.
I will have a surplus rack after replacement. What's your time frame?

Not urgent! Have to build a garage before a chassis swap... so this might work well!
Will your spare have S1-3 spacers, or S4/Sprint spacers?

Hi Phil,
The rack will have S4/Sprint spacers, which seem right for my Kelsport, 6 inch, KO wheels.
