Body work nearly ready for paint, doors are taking forever to get right!!
I'll post more as I go on

Dash switches look nice. New or refurbished, and if so, how?

Hi John,
Body is a new moulding which came as part of unfinished project, never been painted.
Boot and light pods needed stripping - used Nitromors (crap) and lots of elbow grease rubbing down.

Hi Greg,
Switches are refurbished, just rubbed down and spray painted, look much better now. I'd tried other ways to polish them up but just too faded.

Ah, that explains the remarkably paint free shell still showing a gel coat. I thought that you might have found a magic bullet to ease the misery of stripping my +2!
Thanks
John

Have I not heard that Nitomors etc can damage the fibreglass?

i've never experienced this and lots of others agree, potency of Nitromors isn't what it used to be,,,really slow and gentle paint stripping action, lots of time to scrape and wash off, without it getting contact with gelcoat.
another quick update development - this came today:
so I put it on:
