John - Your posting of your EFI setup sent me searching your posts for further details of your project. I didn't find a whole lot but what I did find was impressive. I like your style!

I have a couple of quick questions if you don't mind. I could PM them to you but then other DIY fans wouldn"t would benefit.

I see you are using a mass airflow sensor. Yours is the only DIY project that I've come across that uses one with individual throttle bodies and I see you kept it even with your new TBI setup. Do you see an advantage to that setup over just the throttle position, air temp, and manifold pressure sensors?

What was the reason for going away from the original bike throttle bodies?

I'm setting up my zetec conversion with CBR600RR throttle bodies and a megasquirt ECU with a wide band O2 sensor. If I have the physical room to employ them, I even plan to use the secondary injectors as used by Honda on the bike. It looks like you have been down that road so I'd appreciate any input you can provide.

Bud et Al..

It's O.K. we're in the Mods section.

My first thoughts were to use a 2.0 Ford Mondeo engine complete, even bought the donor vehicle but after sitting back with a beer and comparing the two decided that it would be too much work so stripped the Mondeo of all its EFI components to graft onto the Twink.

Was even going to use the efi module hence the maf which was a nice easy fit,(now it just gives me a little extra data to play with),throttle bodies were utilised as the inlet/injectors on the mondeo could not be modified to fit.

I was always concerned about the balance of the four butterflies, especially just off tick-over, so looked to a Ford RS2000 for a single throttle body.

Am running Megasquirt on AlphaN at the moment.

Good Luck

I see, said the blind man...
I missed your single throttle body in the second photo. Keep us posted on how that all works out, please.

John,

If it helps I can email you the map i have, for a standard twink as i now believe. If you search my posts you can see the graph it produces.I can also send you the start up map too,a point on that is because the coolant temp sensor is after the thermostate,it will only get a reading when it starts to open. This make it rich untill warm,
Will any of these help?

Paul

Thanks Paul,Bud.

Am getting on fibre-glassing/strengthening the plenum, just need to tweak my cranking pulse-widths and then start from scratch altering the tables for the new TB...

I think these may be of assistance to anyone with an Emerald or similar ECU. Its based on a standard twincam and rolling road set up.
