Ah yes that edge should be protected from damage until you need it

Seriously though, at what speed do you feel "lift off"?
I have driven my S4 at up to 130mph for short periods & do not recall any problem.
On the other hand my old Mk14 Elite at that speed way back when was certainly considering flight.

Technical oddity: My S4 has a Zetec engine; supposedly lighter than the twin-cam.
My Elite had a 1650cc pre-crossflow Ford engine; most obviously heavier than the Coventry Climax.

On the same run (A617) at the same speeds the front end seemed a little "ponderous",maybe affected by crosswinds? I don't know,maybe the Elan has a slightly different aerodynamic than the Plus2? but I do know that I'm going to keep it,just need to sheath the "blade",am looking at Mini seam trim...

Yes it's all a bit subjective.
Your Mini seam trim is a good idea but I can't stop thinking that I've seen chrome finish plastic trim that would slip nicely over that sheet metal.
Trouble is I can't for the life of me remember where I've seen the stuff being used.

I bet some of the well known trim suppliers will have rolls of it though.

John, Did you find your edge trim? Will the chrome plastic trim widely used for door edge protection work or would it be too large?

Everybody and their brother here sells that, even Walmart. ...and for the life of me I don't know why. It might work for your purpose but IMHO it looks tacky on door edges.

Clicking on the piccy is not telling me what you actually used to cover that sharp edge John.
Was it the Mini Seam cover thingy or the plastic door protector stuff?

Was that via a German Autobahn then John Be careful what you write here for all to see. 95 mph is 3 month banning territory and you don't need that this side of the driving season.

Good homebrew solution for your airdam/splitter/spoiler though, keep it up.

Ah yes, that was what I had in mind; great & available to suit different thicknesses as well.
Might look cheap on car doors but ideal for your application & it doesn't cost the World-------What a pleasant surprise
