I have in the past machined down the trunnion threads on the uprights to make them compatible with rose jointed wishbones, this was on a Caterham and it worked just fine.

Have you checked for binding at full bump with these, i looked at these for 26r, but with the 26r lower wishbone ended up binding...definitely the better solution from engineering perspective..

Cheers

Not sure what you mean by the lower wishbone binding, binding on what? However, I have checked that the joint doesn't run out of movement during full suspension travel and adjusted the angle of the bearing carrier slightly as a result. I THINK that I have covered all of the bases :-)

Steve, what you described re bearing carrier is the binding i referred to i suspect, in our case the caterham trunnion was binding at full droop.

We had solid uprights from US, which are used on early sixties F2 cars, not sure i would run with std uprights with thread machined off as it would be marginal having seen these break on tvr griffith race car in past when using moderm r series tyres

Overall great result Steve.

Cheers V

Thanks, V, I am happy with the result so far. Sorting out adjustable anti roll bars for the front and rear now. I will then have as much adjustment as I think I will need :-)
