I have a 1970 Lotus Elan+2S that was until recently a running car with an MOT.
It was purchased as a Covid lockdown recommissioning project and has had extensive mechanical work done to make it a reliable car. After a year of use I intended to sell it but it was an enjoyable addition to my Lotus collection and I decided to keep it a little longer.
Unfortunately, on a recent run the engine suffered a failure of two pistons. The time and cost of an engine rebuild is not justified to me as the car was never going to stay in my collection.
Therefore, I am now offering it for sale as a project only needing the engine replacing or rebuilding.
As part of the extensive recommissioning work carried out the following Items were replaced:
Vacuum system overhauled and fully functional.
Alternator
Engine mounts
Fuse Holders
Fuel Pump
Head light units
Hi Toque Starter Motor
Rear Shock Absorbers
Airbox and Air filter housing

I forgot to add that one alloy wheel was damaged on the inside when the spinner became loose. It would be possible to repair it. The car is currently using the steel rimmed spare.
The paintwork looks good at ten paces but has some blemishes when viewed more closely. The interior is in good condition. With the engine rebuilt or replaced this would once again be a great usable car.
The car is currently located in Accrington, Lancashire.
