1973 Lotus Elan + 2 130/5

This car has had much work done to it but has been sitting in storage for approx 7 years.
My late Father spent a lot of time (and money) trying to keep the car as original as possible while at the same time upgrading as much as possible where he could.

It is Renault Mid Green and has been repainted at some point but not very well and suffers from micro blistering in places on close inspection, there is zero damage to the body shell and it has been fitted with a new Lotus galvanised chassis. The interior is all new with full oatmeal vinyl trim (the last original trim from Lotus was used apparently) with new carpet set, original headlining and has a new Dashboard with all original gauges. The electric windows work ok.
The rebuilt Twin Cam engine has zero miles and is fitted with fast road cams it comes complete with Dyno sheets, it has a stainless steel exhaust manifold and an alloy rad.
It is fitted with solid driveshafts and a Quaife ATB differential, it has the original 5 speed gearbox fitted. The brakes have all been uprated and refurbished and the suspension has all been renewed and is adjustable front and rear. It has refurbished wheels and spinners.

The car can be heard running, the gears and brakes work but it does require finishing and has been sitting for some time.

It would definitely need the following:

Tyres
Suspension and geometry setting up plus a general torque up of everything under the car.
Inner door panels fitting (supplied complete) and some tidying up under/around the dash fuel and water temp gauges not working.
Doesn't have a gear knob.
Horn not working but has original Maserati air horns.
All oils and fluids changing.

Looking for around £15k

There is also a brand new unwrapped Voights 5 speed Type 9 gearbox for sale by separate negotiation.

Sounds like a great car. Put up a few taster photos to tempt buyers!

Hi Tony. I don't think that is Renault Mid green, but the rather rare Laurel green. Only a few Plus 2 cars had this colour, and it is a really is quite stunning. It's always hard to tell with colour variations on a monitor, but for comparison, this car below is definitely Laurel green.

Hi Mark
The guy we bought the car off said it was Renault mid green.
Lotus confirmed it was painted green all over but had lost their records!
The paint code is LO17.

Cheers

LO17 is Renault mid green for sure Tony. I'm now starting to wonder if it's the same thing, but with Lotus giving it a different name...sometimes. Laurel Green doesn't have a paint code reference that I know of, so apologies, I may have been calling the colour two different names. Looks stunning either way.

If the car is mid green Renault it was a Lotus staff and press car. These were painted green all over and did not have the roof in silver flake. the silver is under the paint, but they were done the Renault green all over at the factory. I know this because we own one of the same cars. :D
