2 Elans for sale USA

Two Elan “projects” for sale as bundle only.
Both cars include titles and VIN plates.
$37,000 as is - this is quite less than I have into them at this point
My plan was to sell the 72 and retain the 69 for myself.
There is ample money left on the bone here for someone that wants to invest time to reassemble.

1972 S4 with 5,599 original miles.

Certainly one of the lowest mileage Elans in the world.
Sold from Lotus Cars on August 27, 1971 to Lotus East in NY.
Ultimately sold and service by Lotus/Manhattan.
The PA registration sticker on the windshield EXPIRED 1/31/72
This suggests the car was on the road for only 5 months MAXIMUM, most probably less.
Car was taken off the road due to front end damage. It has studded snow tires on it when I took possession so my guess is it suffered a snow related injury.
A Lotus replacement frame and a Lotus parts replacement driver’s side front quarter panel were purchased to facilitate repair.
Repair Body work completed this year by Dave Hoffman outside of Philadelphia. Painted in original Lotus Yellow.
Engine Rebuilt by Union Jacks Exotics. All new bearings, rings, seals. Block dipped and painted. New freeze plugs. Valves seats machined and honed. Head Gasket surface cleaned and resurfaced. New Bronze valve guides installed. Distributor recurved. New water pump installed. Cam shims checked and adjusted to spec.
Transmission cleaned, and painted OEM color with new seals, bearings, and gaskets installed. New clutch installed.
Brakes rebuilt with SS pistons and painted front and rear
New wheel bearings all around.
Original Steel wheels blasted and painted.
New Spax shocks and springs all around
New tires installed on steel wheels.
New original style beautiful dash by Prestige Autowood, not yet installed.
Not yet installed- new carpet set. New seat covers. New door panel vinyl. New convertible top.
Dash pad is in exceptional condition, spare aftermarket replacement dash pad included
All parts to assemble are included, intact and in original condition.
My expectation is that small parts like bolts are the parts that need to be purchased.
I purchased a lot of little bright work parts to complete and bring back to original;

1969 S4 actual Mileage not known

Engine disassembled, two heads included. Missing distributor.
Transmission cleaned and painted, new bearings, seals and gaskets installed.
Brakes cleaned painted and SS pistons installed both front and rear.
Body needs work, includes 26 R Flares –not intsalled
Several spare fiberglass parts (hoods, bumpers, doors, and trunk lids)
Parts should be 95+% there to complete the car.
New Spax shocks and springs all around
Rear uprights with adjustable spring perches for 2” springs (included).
4 Minlite wheels (knock on)
CV joint rear axles - new
13” Motolita steering wheel
Jet Hot coated headers

With the sale will go ALL my spare Lotus parts including but certainly not limited to:

2 NOS OEM brake master cylinders, extra front calipers cleaned and painted.
3 Spare Differentials
2 (left and right) spare rear uprights in good condition
Gaskets, bearings, misc rebuild parts hydraulic and engine
Set of Elan Plus 2 seats – extra
2 spare front uprights with hub assembly and discs (bolt on style)
Lotus workshop manuals
Lotus Service Parts list (manual)
Brian Buckland rebuild book
Spare wheels steel both in Elan and Plus 2 Widths

Interesting cars, too much of a project for me.
I'm also interested in the Plus 2.

Cheers,
Glenn
