1965 Elan Coupe project
Posted: Tue Jan 08, 2019 11:05 am1965 Elan Coupe project, an early example of a Coupe with a chassis number showing type as 36 but a unit number from the S2 range. At some point B pillar airflow vents have been added (one side looks like factory work) and later S4 arches grafted on. Built as a LHD car the car was sold through a Belgian dealer - this has been confirmed by Lotus and a Heritage certificate issued. As such the car has never had a UK V5 log book - a DVLA inspection post restoration will be needed. The car was repatriated to the UK and restoration begun including a conversion to RHD. Sitting on a new factory chassis the car is in primer (a few bits of trim/glass have been added for pictures). There are plenty of new parts with the car, in some cases more than one set!
