My Elan Plus 2S is a 1971 US Spec, 4 speed car. Purchased from California about 5 years ago and now living in Texas. The car was then, pretty much in the condition the photos depict but I?ve carried out a number of repairs over time to keep the Lotus looking and performing well. The interior is largely original although the dash has been redone by Madera Concepts. Wiring and chassis are original and in excellent condition. The paint is lovely but not perfect as there are a few imperfections and spots where the clear coat has crazed. I do not have the brake booster, wooden trunk platform nor the original airbox. Overall one of the nicest you'll find.

This is the most rewarding British car I've owned. I'm only considering selling as a prelude to my search for an Elan Coupe so I'd also be interest in a trade (+/-) depending on condition, although I'm not interested in a project.

The paint is not original. It's a high quality re-spray carried out by the previous owner. Thanks for asking....

SOLD at $31,100, that's +$7,100 what he was looking for in the original asking price above. BaT is a very good to look at the current U.S. +2 market.

The most expensive $24,000 car you'll ever buy... It does look to be a very nice car.

This was my first time with BaT. I was not expecting to have my requested reserve questioned although it certainly makes sense from their perspective. After some back and forth we settled on a number. Honestly, I would not have accepted a pre-auction offer anywhere near the auction reserve I agreed to. I gambled (and that's the operative word...no illusions here) that a wider audience would result in a price that was well above the reserve. Whether I would employ the same strategy again really depends on the car. My advice is to negotiate the reserve if you don't like their original suggestion and then decide if you can live with it. Overall, the BaT experience was super. The staff was responsive and knowledgeable.
