Wish I had the money.. That car is a bargain at the current asking price.

What is the current asking price ?
Nonetheless, freshly built, one race weekend, now for sale ... what went wrong, did the customer not like the car ?

price is in the add at the link : $39500

The provided vin is a bit odd as it show a 5 digit unit number... the paint scheme is a bit loaded to my taste, but on paper and the photos the car does not look bad for the price...

"not to bad as price" is an understatement - the engine is about $20k alone

cheers

BUT, THEY HAD TO CUT OFF THE WINDOW FRAMES!!!! WHY? Saved at lest 10 pounds

In the VIN, the 1 should be a slash, ie: 36 / 66**

I suspect they took out the complete window frame and motors - saves more like 20 or 30 Kg and sold them for enough to pay for about half the rest of the build hahahha

My Elan is also titled with the "/" shown as a "1". Many US state DMV computer systems were never configured to accept anything other than numbers or letters in the VIN field.

OK, I just realised that it doesn't show the sold price--it was $26,000!
