Lotus Elan Sprint 1971 DHC
For sale is my Father?s Elan Sprint ? bought from Paul Matty Sports cars approx 24 years ago and worked on throughout that time.
The body has just had a complete re-spray in original colours, including work to make the doors actually fit the body at a cost of ?5k.
The car has been lightly used for fun for most years of my father?s ownership so has had ongoing maintenance rather than any big rebuilds. The car has a year?s MOT ?no advisories and the tester?s comments? were that the car is in good order.
Changes from standard spec.
The following changes have been made over the last 24 years ?
? Alloy rollcage fitted (with hidden sill bars)
? Front suspension set up by Kelvedon motorsport ? no bump steer!
? Alternative rack fitted
? Hi-Torque starter motor fitted
? Battery isolator fitted
? Aldon Ignitor fitted instead of points.
? Susan Miller CV driveshaft?s replaced doughnuts
? Adjustable 'A' frames
Recent works completed:
? New handbrake cable fitted
? New Weber carbs fitted and tuned
? Seat springs have been repaired
? Signed Steering wheel re-trimmed ? the original leather (yes, not plastic!) was too degraded to save
The car is a very good honest straight example of an Elan sprint. The interior is not concourse but it is tidy and presentable, the hood has been made out the wrong thickness of material and does not fold away as neatly as it should. Some time spent on the interior of the car would get it from a solid standard example to an outstanding example.
Everything works as it should- it?s ready to be driven away and enjoyed this summer. Offered at the realistic price of ?39995 ONO
Pictures to follow at the weekend.
By all means come and have a look if you are serious.
