Hello guys,

Mate of mine who is quite local to me has an elan s4 resto project for sale. Some parts missing (Gearbox for EG) .
It has a decent Spyder frame which looks in good condition.

The car is very kit form but it should build ok by someone who knows whats what. He (wullie) does not. Lots of boxes of bits etc and what looks to be a quite sound bodyshell..

He has the vin plate from the body safely tucked away and a hint of it's history.

Anyone interested? PM me and I will pass your details on to the guy..

PS.. The engine is quite good having had a rebuild from the box of parts. ground crank is 020 / 020... new bearings. clearences checked etc etc... V good bottom end. Block is linered to st'd and was honed to take 015" pistons. Head (Stromberg) has had a decent do up too . Looks quite fine. I have lots of pictures of the engine's build for any prospective buyer..

Interested? PM me and I will pass on yr details to wullie. Who has also a +2 project on his hands. :)

Alex... (Doing away health wise but Zero energy etc... ) Building a Vespa 400 micro car (slowly!!) ....

Hello,
A few specifics like where the car is ( country) would be helpful. I would be interested if I'm North America.

Alex is in Fife Scotland and he says "quite local to me"

I think that's clearly a clue Watson

Hi Alex,

Hope all is well with you. Can't believe it's almost a year since I dropped the crank off to Wullie! If only I had the permission from home command!

All the best and regards to Wullie.

Pete

Hi Pete,

I built the engine for Wullie and it's very good. The car is for sale though as you can see.

I think just a bit too much for him. He is not an engineer / mechanic. The car will build welll though. It has a very nice Spyder frame too.

1 year eh? Good heavens! time flies when having a good time does it not.

I will pass on your regards to Wullie. He was here tonight. he has bought a decent +2 as a project now. Its a runner but needs the works. I think I might get busy again.. I am building a small vespa 400 microcar. Rust! More rust than body but I am getting there, Go on holiday for 6 weeks on Sunday...

Regards and stay well..

Alex..

Hi Alex,

Off to the West coast again? Glad to see that he hasn't given up on brand Lotus just yet! If he needs +2 parts, I have a few things that were left over/ hoarded after I sold mine.

Rust? Surely you don't have to worry about that. I thought the sun always shone in Fife!

Regards,

Pete

Ps I'll give you a PM.

Hi Alex, Just returned to the net after 3 years without a Lotus. Had a 66 FHC S3 Elan in sprint colours which I sold to assist with an Evora S purchase a couple of years ago, anyway have now come to my senses!! and on the lookout for an Elan in any condition as I retired from Murray Lotus/Volvo in Edinburgh last year and my tools are getting rusty. Would be happy to hear from you if anything in our neck of the woods becomes available.
Regards
Jim (Edinburgh)
