I see you fitted the same Griffin radiator as i selected form my S4. Could you tell me whatt tempature you run and thermostat you use. I have trouble getting the running temp' above 160 in moving traffic. It will go to 190 in stopped traffic. I live in California
Thanks
James

James, I have the same radiator. I use a 160 thermostat and mine shows 170-180 in running traffic, which is ideal, but it will creep to 190 and sometimes above in sitting traffic, but generally not over 200. I have two 8" pusher fans. My personal opinion is that the mild steel header I have from RD enterprises, even with jet hot coating, still throws off a lot of heat and raises the head temp in sitting traffic. The temp comes down quickly once the car gets moving and the water starts flowing again. Dan

i get to 80? (the small oil cooler doesnt make a difference) PLUS I decide when the fan goes ON: i have an extra
toggle switch on the dash! - similiar setup to what you have sandy j

Is the car still available? Could I see some interior shots? Is this motor problematic as a daily driver?

Hi Robbie,
The car is partially disassembled and you can put it back together any way you want. As it sits it is not suitable for the street (it was an autocross car) but all the original parts are included. This would require quite a bit of time and skill however fiddling with the wiring, headlights, windows and top.
The engine and transmission have no miles since rebuild. The engine is stage 3 -not full race, and the clutch is not a racing clutch so you would be ok on the street.
What your are buying is a collection of the finest Lotus parts with a great looking body which you could transform into anything you wanted.
If you want, I could hook you up with someone (a Caterham Dealer here on Vancouver Island) who could do the work for you and then ship the car. This would cost several thousand dollars since it would be very time intensive.
Cheers Mike

I'll have to give this more thought. I didn't realize the car was disassembled. I thought the pictures were documenting a restoration.

Hi Mike,

Is the car still available? I'm interested. Would it be possible to chat to you about it on the phone?

Cheers

Mike,
Can you elaborate on why the car was disassembled? Are the autox pictures before the omnitech motor was installed? Is this the second stage 3 installed? I'm assuming the autox pictures are older since the bumper seems to have changed colors. Feel free to pm or email me.

[email protected]

Thanks.

pm sent

$13,000.00 engine removed after 10 hours due to exhaust cam lobes grinding off and contaminating the oil - cams not hardened by manufacturer

present engine completely rebuilt to the tune of another 10g's

the parts are worth more than the whole car??.
