I wonder what that wire is under the chassis right next to the exhaust.

Greg,

You're probably correct. It just looked more like an electrical wire to me and I forgot that my brake line used to be routed under the chassis until I re-routed it through the backbone years ago.

Nice Elan and perfectly restored for the purist.
I think, if it's the same, was on sale at the 2007 show at Donington for 29000 pounds, but I did note that the its badges and the stainless strip on the sills were missing....and still are
The car was on sale for a long time then disappeared and now it's back...still for sale   but 2007 was also a, me thinks, re-evaluation period, as the highest price for an Elan sprint was only maybe around 20000 pounds. In fact at todays valuations 29000 seems very fair when you consider the amount of work involved in restoring an Elan to this standard.
Frank, yes that is the pipe line along the exhaust pipe leading to the rear "T" piece.

Hi Gino, its not the car from 2007, I did not start the restoration until October 2008, Its a fresh rebuild no more than 10 test miles on it (I will do a few more miles next week if its dry) the price is ?35000 (Not cheap but find another on like it) it has been profesionally restored in my workshop and its your wheels and hubs Gino that we did the deal on earlier last year as it was on Europa alloys when I bought it, See Pic

I also have a 1969 White S4 DHC being built to this specification that will be available in about 2 months if you get in early you could have it in RHD or LHD its was an original UK RHD car and a 1972 Sprint DHC Red over white being rebuilt.

Before anyone comments it has no wipers on the blue car yet as they just need fitting and I have not fitted any mirrors or side badges as I prefer it plain.

Thanks for the comments

Hi Tynemead,
Lovely car.
Is it Medici Blue? If yes could you please post the modern / current paint code for it - one that can be recognised by modern paint mix systems.

many thanks, Ken.

Small world !
Very nice job and the price, considering inflation and the ever increasing quotations for Elans, is a fair asking price. Great Job !
I'll bear that in mind when and if I ever sell my Cirrus White S3 coup? just finished restoring (see new photos in Gallery)

Ciao
Gino

I posted the paint code for medici blue ( PPG DCC concept) on the site awhile back I had it matched/formulated via a profet machine - look in the archive .

Hi George,
I can't find your original post at the moment, but if I remember correctly when I tried to use your paint code it was not recognised by the computerised paint mixing systems that I tried.

Again, if I recall correctly I was told ppg system is out of date and not able to be converted to a modern code?

I am in the UK, if you are in a different country maybe that is the reason you can use ppg?

That is why I am hoping Tynemead has a current paint code.

many thanks, Ken.

Hi Ken,

The formulation I used and posted was for the current single stage system circa 2006, DCC Concept. If PPG concept is available to you should have been able to have it mixed. I here is the formula again in picture format off a pint can - the label also has a name on it of "celest lt blue" but as i said it was matched off a profet machine read on a clean section of oem paint.

I hope this helps and you can have it mixed in this product its always been a system for me.

I don't like to go off topic in a for sale ad but the forum is the best and no one minds, so here is more of my lame links from searches.

http://www.lotuselan.net/cgi-bin/search ... oom_sort=0

The important terms are medici and ppg, blue is used too ofeten to be of much help and will only make finding what you want more difficult.

THe first one listed is a bust, the second and trird are hits.

All of this info is from George, I have sanded a bit of the stuff off of S2's so I kind of know what it looks like...
