Fantastic! Not crazy about the wheels, but the body is a super job (the doors even fit). Would love to see this in person.

Was on the phone today with a previous owner. He bought the car in the mid seventies in quite bad shape. Back then it was with the fastback body but still with the standard bolt on steel rims and the original wheel arches. He then took the body off, restored the chassis, rebuilt the engine and transmission did some improvement to the drive train and had the wheel arches widened by a specialist in Safenwil. he used the car on a few events (picture in the Lotus book) and sold the car in 1985 to his brother who again sold it to the last owner in 1986. So far the history is known down to 1975....i will try to find out more about the first eight years but it seems seems that since the car was in bad shape in 75 that the conversion must be from the 60's maybe even from new. Unfortunately he doesn't remember where he bought the car but promised me to look through his old photos and papers to find some more evidence. He was very happy to hear that "his" car still exists since he lost track of it over 20 years ago.
That's all the news for now........................

opened the oil pump today, filled it with grease and had another go at the oil pressure...perfect. changed the points and condenser, spark plugs, cleaned the webers and the jets, used some fresh fuel and it started right on the first try, nice idle, no overheating nor suspicious noises and good response to the gas. had it running for about 30 min

Who is actually selling this car, the discussion doesn't make it clear.

I'm confused like BillWilll, and I usually like to know the identity of the person with whom I'm dealing.

Because it is not actually clear if the car is for sale. The messages have the tone of someone who has just recently BOUGHT the car.

"Found in a barn" It isn't actually clear if dodgebrothers have title to sell the car. Almost certainly they do, but one likes to be sure.
