This car has never been restored and still has the original paint, interior, chassis, wheels, carpet, windshield, etc.

The Lotus/Ford Twincam has just been fully rebuilt, including water pump, clutch, release bearing, and flywheel, and has less than 200 miles. The original radiator has been reconditioned and restored. The exhaust piping and muffler are new, along with the brake pads (both replaced with OE). Koni shocks have been put at all 4 corners. The adjustable rear shocks need to be softened (I think they're far too stiff).

The non-original parts of the car are that the original generator has been replaced with an alternator and the rear "rubber doughnut" drive shafts have been replaced with a solid CV axle. Both the generator components and the original rear drive shafts are to be sold with the car.

Additional value to the originality include the original bill of sale from Lotus Cars in England and the original Florida title where it was registered in the USA (both are original, not copies). Original wheels, original trunk components, original engine (matching number block), original tool set, original wood dash, original vinyl front and rear seats.

Most of the car and electrics function well, but it is a 40 year old unrestored exotic sports car and will need some TLC. These cars have never been known to be maintenance free. 4-speed transmission is a treat and shifts well.

Known issues with the car include: headlight vacuum system is not working, carbs will need tuning and adjustment, rear shocks need to be adjusted, interior carpet is getting ragged, original factory radio is missing. The body has the typical Lotus stress cracks, but is in sound condition. Chassis is also original (matching VIN stamp) and appears to be rust free.

I have never seen another Elan +2 that is this close to original.

The Lotus Elan community is very helpful and supportive, and most parts are actually still available.

Call 801-706-0143 or email [email protected] for more information. Currently asking $10,000. Car starts and drives fine, but I would not recommend taking it on a long trip because the engine still needs a gentle break in.
