Help needed

PostPost by: MartijnElanS4 » Wed Jun 26, 2024 7:15 pm

Hi everyone,

Could somebody tell me how to remove the front part of distribution ‘box’ where the waterpump is housed.
All bolts have been removed and we tried to carefully pry it open but without any luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

There is also a set screw that holds the sandwich plate to the block. You can see this screw inside the Timing Chain space.

I assume you're not trying to remove this with the head and sump still in place ?

To add to what I wrote in the highlighted thread, I have found it much easier to separate the front cover from the backplate if they are still attached to the block, and far less chance of bending either, as they are secured to a flat surface, ie the block face.
