Someone suggested it is missing the bonded in metal support.
I thought that was only on the +2’s.
If there is supposed to be one could some kind person please post a photo?
Or supplier, in fact any help appreciated.
I’m currently looking for an old bonnet to replace the new one but this may sort me out!
Cheers
I have a lightweight hood. It has a steel tube laminated into it.
I exposed it and cut into it several times. Then point by point
welded with the MIG welding machine. This way I have the top of the hood
to match the body exactly, then re-laminated it.
Cheers

I couldn’t get a new bonnet made in time for my paint shop dates.
Also couldn’t find a second hand old one.
Luckily SJ had the bar with hook in stock so I will glass it in.
I don’t think I need to cut and weld it as I could bend it but it looks to be formed really well.
Thanks to everyone for the help and pictures.

If you do put a strengthening reinforcement in, keep it away from the forward end of the cam cover as headroom is precious in that area.

Mine will end up as per the red one above.
It is a sprint ribbed cam cover.

Thinking about it, I guess you mean the trailing edge , in which case there is no bar there.
