Furry friends

So, a nice simple job. The front right indicator wasn’t working(rear working fine), so after checking the bulb the next check would be the connections in the nose, which involved removing the grille, air filter and trunking and raising the car up to a more sensible working height. Checked through all the earth connections and connected a feed to the indicator wire and sure enough it shone brightly. But nothing coming to the indicator wire.Much swearing and head scratching, so I decided a connection must’ve come adrift somewhere behind the dash, so further investigation put off until the next day.
Next day came around, rolled the car out into the glorious sunshine and opened the passenger door ready to start the dreaded investigation behind the dash, only to see the reason for the problem staring at me from the passenger footwell!
Glovebox out and a search tomorrow to see just how much has been eaten! Battery disconnected until I’ve checked and repaired all damage. Just when things were going too well!

It certainly seemed to prefer the yellow ones!
Luckily only three wires were nibbled at, and actually quite easy to get at to repair. None were “live” and it was a good reminder to keep the battery disconnected at all times.
It was also a timely reminder that I’m not as fit or flexible as I was about 50 years ago when I last had the pleasure of delving in that area behind the dash!

Unfortunate problem with some of my cars, and when I get in there and fix it, I figured that’s a place they like and they might try to come back so I bought liquid electrical tape and stirred in a bunch of Cayenne pepper, and after I put the wiring back, I coat it with that, you could still leave a little space to clarify what the color of the wiring is. Apparently for a pretty good sum of money Honda sells this electrical tape in rolls with the cayenne pepper and that’s where I got the idea and it seems to work, Gordon

Your solution can sometimes be a problem Brock.
We had a candlelit dinner last night courtesy of a stray moggie that found its way into a local substation.
Wandering across a transformer it managed to put 56K volts through itself, and plunge 25,000 houses and businesses into darkness.
Normally the substation would have sufficient redundancy to cope with this situation but it's still getting repaired after a recent cyclone completely flooded it.
Apparently no-one has come forward to claim the, presumably charcoal, remains.
Probably don't want the bill..........

Marvelous things, these furry creatures. She caught one of the other furry things only yesterday, so I wouldn't be without her. Watch out if she does not like the cut of your jib and you go to stroke her, as a couple of mates will attest.
