… or lack of it.
Currently fitting new handbrake pads purchased from one of the leading UK Elan parts suppliers. The price was pretty reasonable as a direct purchase, no return of old items required. The item as supplied looked fine until it came time to fit. The new items are rather chunky in comparison to the old items removed and and require a deal of “adjustment” (filing) I order to fit them. The slot needs relieving to allow it to slide over the hanging pin and the width needs reducing to allow it to slide in to the handbrake mechanism.
I’ll be contacting the supplier.

I've had some shockingly bad stuff recently from the usual suppliers, a ball joint and steering knuckle to name just two - I couldn't even fettle them to use them.
I need to do my parking brake pads too - I've decided to reline the existing myself to avoid this sort of problem
