This came with a load of engine parts, no indication what it's use is.
Built from aluminium
OD 9.4 cm
ID 2.2 cm
On the inside I can read "1958"

Any hints ?

You have a OIL cooler sandwich plate that fits between the filter and the Pump.

Makes sense as there is also an oil cooler in another box.

Make sure you use an oil thermostat if your going to use it, also it is difficult to route the oil hoses so that they don't foul the radiator bottom hose. I used angled connectors like these on the sandwich plate:

The oil thermostat is a good idea. I ran one without last season and the oil was too cold.
