[ :D :D quote="HCA"]Maybe I shall rethink parts from Stateside and stick with Blighty!

A set of ARP head bolts, eight cam followers and ten top hat shims from Tony Ingram - postage, 48 bucks, and wait for it..,.

DHL $151 [/quote]

Then, to add insult to injury, I will have to pay 20% VAT on these… :D :D

Have we, the EU, some sort of super trade deal with the US that passed me by?

I purchased from Tony Ingram:
Set of cam followers, $190
Set of top hat sims, $42
Set ARP head bolts, $168
US Postage, $48

I have just paid an invoice from La Poste (French mail service) for €34, for collection of TVA and duty on behalf of France Duane….

Don't know if you've found an xflow block at a palatable price yet but I cam across this link to Hartwell Hemel Hempsted today. They ask £1400 + vat for a 711 block apparently.

Thanks Simon!

Yes, I have seen it and ‘bought’ it several weeks ago! Trouble is, it does not exist! There are lots of blocks shown in the UK - wilcox at £1900, Historic Racing at £1300 and so on, but the truth is that there are none.

I got a really good black friday deal from Summit in the end. It hs cleared customs and should be with me on Friday…

Ok. That’s good news anyway. Doesn’t matter what the price is, if they haven’t got any they haven’t got any.
Good find from Summit Racing there.

Sorry I'm a little late to this discussion.......

Mountune has some nice Twin Cam components at fair prices.

You can also try Tony Ingram. He usually has stuff in stock.

Thanks Zog!

Yep, I have spoken with Mountune amongst others, and have ordered parts from Tony Ingram!

Apart from the better tax payments I make on US supplies (again, no duty and what I reckon as a lower TVA on the block) I notice a huge jump in customer service in the US. Tony Ingram is so helpful and the two chaps I deal with at Summit could not be more accommodating and, efficient.
