Tour de france automobile
This is not a 26R it is a standard Elan entered by the Belgian driver Henry Quernette

In the photo the is car in action at Cognac Circuit.
it is evident that the fron wings have been widened.

I was convinced that first wide wings were introduced in 1965.
this is what I found under the paint today.
Can I consider these wings as period specifications?

If you are intending on getting an appendix K Historic Passport then discuss your plans early with whomever shall be doing the inspection.
To my eyes, you have a photo showing a period change to the body shape, so it should be allowed, however, the FIA are a law unto themselves.
Apart from the beauty of running something as it was, I'm not sure it will confer any advantage as the track is more likely to be rigorously adhered to in any ruling.
It might mean you could fit 5.50 M tyres at the front ( usual largest tyre is 5.25 M or 5.50 L), but I don't believe the larger tyre would fit under the rears anyway.

I use these CR6ZZ 185s as the road legal tyre.
They may be allowed in non appK racing but the latter would almost certainly require Dunlop racing tyres. Most series use the 'L'. I race in CSCC who allow L or M

the avon are accepted in FIA races.
Those are the typical tires for Spa 6 hours.
I want to use the Avon on these original steel wheels. 5 inch I think

And just to add a little bit of doubt........ do not forget that INNER of wings(front and rear) were also modified because the very round shape the 525m13 dunlop and 550L13 are touching merely in front inner but even at rear when ""hard driving sequences"" (sorry for poor english ) Best regards to all
