This car needs to be brought back to the UK, restored and hopefully get the original reg no re-issued. Even if it makes little economic sense. PM sent!

This kind of job is worth investing in an oscillating saw : better reach and a lot less dust than an angle grinder or electric file, even if at the expense of a slightly lower material removal rate. That is my #1 go to tool for most structural fiberglass jobs, including cutting panels.

I repaired the wire frames (trellis) on my elan with regular tools. Its not overly hard if you have some decent welding and grinding skills. I'd leave body on chassis for that and make sure the doors still fit ok as you bond the new stuff to the shell.
