Interesting find

Found this behind the LHS sill board. The string was tied to the top of the metal lattice and the label had detached. Looks like Lotus QC never finished the job (or the label came off before QC had finished!). Not sure about shut lines were ever going to pass QC!
Pity no date, correct CBU number, though.

Nice piece of history! Increases the value of your car by 10% that it was actually inspected by the factory :lol:

I found a Blumells antifreeze sticker inside the heater of my pre-airflow coupe just after I'd bought it in 1978. It was dated late February 1966, about a month before Lotus says it left the works. Makes me wonder if it wasn't one of those Elans you see sitting in the side yard of Cheshunt missing a necessary part to be finished. I have kept it in my file on the car in Ohio.

Mine had one in the same spot. Also didn't finish QC. Also '66 FHC.

Old cars, eh? I remember when you couldn't get the "Local Authority" to drag one of these heaps away. :twisted:
