Browsing I've notice following:

Some of my records have been merged:

1963 S1 0234 record has update lines and images relating to an S2 3396 that I also own.

1964 S1 0429 record is correct, although multiple entries.

1964 S2 3396 record has correct data and image other than the last new owner record which does not relate to this car.

The S2 26R record also has some of the 1964 S1 0429 details merged, 26R colour should be red, not the Red/Black now Flag Metallic Blue which relates to the 0429 record. The middle of three records is correct for the 26R.

I'm keen to help out, I've rest my password successfully but unable to log in at this time, I'll wait and try again and have multiple photos to add for each.

Vaughan

Is this just on the test site or on the live site as well?

I sent you another password reset link. I made a boo-boo and the reset email from the test site directed you to reset your password on the live site. Doh!

I looked at the record on both sites and don't see this. Can you screenshot what you see and send it? https://elanregistry.org/app/car_details.php?car_id=539

vstibbard wrote:1964 S1 0429 record is correct, although multiple entries.

I only see one entry for this car (It's a pretty car BTW)
https://elanregistry.org/app/car_details.php?car_id=464

I assume this is 26/3996. The new owner record is merging the record from when John in Seattle owned the car (previously record 913).

Again I'm not seeing what you are seeing. I only see the 26R records. The "Red/Black now Flag Metall" record are updates in 2018 - https://elanregistry.org/app/car_detail ... ar_id=1137

Please send/attach a couple screen shots so I can see what you are seeing.

I've taken all the feedback and rethought the Add/Update car information flow and rebuilt it one more time. Please have a look and let me know what you think.

The data on the test site is a few weeks old so don't expect it to match what is on the main site.

Dave - I received your note regarding uploading via an Android phone. I've tested using an iPhone and iPad and picture uploads work as expected. I'll see if I can find an Android device and give it a try.

Thanks for the feedback.

sent a comment on registry site - my car is there under previous owner - can this be updated to me, or is that not the point of the registry?

It looks like you sent a note off to the person who last registered the car. DM me your car information (or the carID from the registry) and the email address you use on the registry and I'll reassign the car to you.

Keeping a history of ownership changes and changes to the cars is the exact point of the registry.

I've fixed a bug related to mobile uploads and fixed a few display issues on smaller devices.

Please give the test site a try and let me know what you think.

When you are all done there will be a gallery for up to 6 pictures:

Sorry, Iv'e been busy with work, I'll check and replay to your points in my last post. Also happy to have a look at it again.

Question, A great feature would be being able to build up a cars past ownership history in a chronological order? As an example I have the full chain of ownership for 26/0429, including photos of it in its various guises etc.

BTW, thanks for all the great work in building out the registry.

Cheers

V

It was on my wishlist and then someone asked for it. I’m open for requests to make things better.

With the data I could add it in the history. If there is enough interest I could put together an interface so an owner could add the records themselves.

Are you thinking something like:
- From this date to this date
- owner was Bob from Essex
- Car details (color, engine, etc)
- Comments
- here are a couple pictures

There is a bit of a problem here, three situations I can think of:
1- I have a Sprint on my record, I sold it in 2013 I think. When I add the next owner, "the car is sold to xyz", maybe xyz doesn't want to be mentioned.
2- I am a scammer. I add a car, add a celebrity as previous owner, who historically really had this car and there are pictures of him/her with an Elan. I now try to sell a fake car with famous background, backed by online information that this car is mine.
3- an idiot wants to make his car collection online, and claims property on a few famous cars in this registry, maybe even adding a few fake ones.

I am not sure how to solve this, but proof of property (buying contract, registration papers) could be one solution.
