RHD Firewall pattens for pedals and master cylinders

Can anyone help with dimension or pattern for location of the holes for the standard pedal assembly and master cylinders please as I've a new shell which has not been drilled.

If no pattens, a set off from the inner tunnel and top of footwell to the inner left bolt hole will suffice, as I can level it and work out the rest.

My other shells are all 26R with the triple master set up and pedal box which is quite different

Vaughan,

I bought my 3rd Elan in 1984 and I was thrilled, since it had been converted to 26R spec by the original owner in the late 1960s. It left Cheshunt as a LHD S3 S/E. The original owner kept it LHD, but did everything he could to make it a true 26R, including the 3 remote reservoir master cylinders. It appears to me that they simply added a 3rd cylinder to the left of the original 2 and on the same center to center distance. Do you think they did they did it correctly? They did not fit a balance bar, but simply put a clevis pin through the 2 push rods of the MC's and the pedal arm. Must have had way too much rear brake bias. And no, I've never driven the car as it remains a project yet to commence.

When you get to it, by changing the bore sizes I'm sure you could get it to work, you may need a bias valve as well which frankly is what the balance bar is achieving, at very least you would have two cylinders and some degree of failure margin.

The standard pedal box has the master cylinder at slightly different heights to I think allow for the larger reservoir and or alter the ratio of clutch v's brake.

Please forgive me for piggy backing, but I too will soon be mounting a new body on my frame. Is it possible to send the diagrams or dimensions also. Mine is RHD also and I'll be installing either a new TTR pedal assembly or the OEM Pedal assembly.

Hi Frank, I'll pop them on a PM to you, use them as approximate references as it comes down the shell's as well.

Does your TTR shell have the tab welded to the lattice to take the end of the road pedal box? None of my TTR shells had it.

If you'r fitting the balance bar pedal box, I can share the dimensions of mine, noting that it is an original 1965 assembly, and the newer ones look different.
