Hi all, trying to find out more about 26R 26-S2-31. I believe it was a UK car with first owner George Machin. George was based in the North-East and club raced the car in 1965 and 1966. I'd love to hear any additional information on George's time with the car or that of subsequent owners. Many thanks, Robert

Was it raced by Joe Lany?

Welcome to the group Robert; what is your particular interest in this car? History or whereabouts currently?

Hi there, car has been restored and is being raced again by the current owner. He is keen to know more of its early history and has asked me to help. Interested and grateful if anyone knows anything and is willing to share. Many thanks, Robert

I owned a S2 26R in the late 1980's, Joe had raced it in the 60's. The car had been road registered in 1967, when the Chevrons started wiping the floor with front engine cars.

Hi Mazzini, many thanks for that - do you think it could be the same one? I believe the Machin car was road registered from new. Many thanks again Robert

Robert,
The linked website has lots of race entry info from back then; it's sometimes a puzzle to dig deeper from their lists but more history is being uploaded all the time.

That's helpful Peter - many thanks. I don't see Machin's name there, but will keep looking. I believe his races included Croft BRSCC 12/06/66, Croft BRSCC 03/07/66 and Cadwell Park BRSCC 24/07/66. Incidentally, it looks as if the other driver mentioned in this thread was Joe Lanny with two n's. Many thanks again, Robert

Yes, sorry Lanny with a double 'n'.

If it's of any interest Joe maybe still about, I think five years ago somebody told me that they ran into him.
