Certainly am, and would love for one and all to join.
Unfortunately a date cannot be set at the moment due to my car’s finish date being altered.
Will get a date in the diary very soon

Glen,
I have always used the S2 wiring schematic, with additional small looms for the electric windows. All else is the same. I am also restoring my pre-airflow coupe 5526. I'm just about ready to re-install the body onto the chassis.

Thanks for the tip Roger, I will use it for sure.
My body is well under way and should be ready in a few weeks. I’ll post it’s current state now.
Looks like we will be completing ours around the same time.

Engine and gearbox in.
I now see why the subframe lower cross member was changed to a removable one on later models. It is near impossible to get the engine and gearbox in while they are joined together.
If I ever need to remove them in the future I will most certainly be splitting them before removing.

I find it is much easier to fit the engine and gearbox separately. I wasted several hours the first time I tried with the engine and gearbox together.
Malcolm.

Just to correct a detail that the Elan Chassis never had a removable Low Cross Member.
However the +2 did have a removable Low Cross Member.
I also fit Gearbox first then after fit Engine.
Stops the Bellhhousing Jam

Looks great! Reassembling is the easy part. Keeping your fresh paint job from not getting scratched is the hard part. We won’t talk about the part you can no longer find and doesn’t seem to be available anywhere.........
