Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

After some specific improvements my recently aquired 1969 Lotus Elan S4 FHC is now ready for the season! I added among others 5-inch Minilite Wheels, an Aluminium Radiator, an alternator and an optimized starter motor. This year the car will participate in some minor rallies in Switzerland as well as in the hillclimb to the famous Ballon d?Alsace in France?

So that's what mine would look like with Minilites (13" x 5"?) and a decent radiator / expansion tank. I suspect I'll be going down that route in the near future.

Did you use specific tyres with those 5" wide alloy wheels, to avoid the tyres touching the inside of the wheel arches and the rear spring supports?

The wheels are regular 5x13" Minilites and the tires are Dunlop Street Response 155/80x13" - everything fits without problems!
