So.... I'm Out and About

in the Black Forest..? having a coffee in a restaurant, when I said to the waitress? wow nice racing paintings, guess someone likes old cars. ?Yes? my dad, he will be here soon, you can talk to him. 30 minutes later I can?t believe I?m in deep discussion with a classic Lotus owner, not just an early S1, but an original 26R racer and an original Ginetta G4? bloody hell, how lucky was that. Anyway. invites me to look at his collection?.

have a look at these?

A MASSIVE thank you to Elio...

Watching the SPA video.
I have 2 questions for our collectively informed auto enthusiasts...

"1"...At the beginning of the video is the car in front of the Ginetta a GT40?
"2"...At 2:35-2:40 of the video....WHAT is that FANTASTIC CAR (silver in color)
I first thought it was a Mercedes Gullwing... THANKS for posting the SPA video!!!

Very Much Looking Forward to learning about the Silver car in the video!!!

Can't even begin to fathom the collective value of the group of RARE Vintage Sports Cars on the SPA track!!!

Just watching the race video, I could feel my foot pushing on the carpet BRAKING!!!

mark - i also love those lightweight (low drag) jags; HOWEVER a well sourced 26R will always pass one of them stupid jags (sorry folks) - at 10% of the total cost!! sandy

Hello el-saturn; If I was driving my DREAM Sports car a 1955 Alloy Bodied Mercedes Benz Gullwing...

I truly won't CARE if a 122 Volvo Sedan running on 3 cylinders passed me up  :D

prices sure have gone crazy... yet some people still drive these cars the way they were intended to be : Pierre de Thoisy for instance, whom I saw taking such a car to the same round the corner family garage where I had my daily cage for an oil change - yet with a different driving style -

just before the 2010 Panamericana where he drove the 300SL to the forth place
