Super Rare Elan+1

Spotted at a garage in Lancashire, England, an example of the extremely rare Lotus Elan+1.

This is a lhd example so presumably reimported from Europe / US.

If I recall correctly road tests at the time noted that they didn?t feel particularly planted or stable, particularly at low speeds.

Was this "Air-[plane]-Lotus" before or after the Submarine-Lotus?

Or, now being a "2-seater", is this just an "in-line" Elan?

So like the McLaren F1, this now has "center-of-the-car" driver's position [unless it was a rhd car, in which case, it is now a "driverless" car - clearly way ahead of its time, as is common for Lotus].
