Dear All
I was wondering what other members have used to attach badges to bezels. I am restoring an S4 S/E and have a constructors championship badge to stick to the bezel on the right hand rear wing and S/E badge for the bezel on the left. Not sure what is the best way to stick them to the bezel so that forty+ year old badges don't end up lost in a gutter somewhere!

Thanks for the reply - which one have you used as there seem to be a whole variety that they produce?

A couple of blobs of silicone hold a new mirror glass in place, I'd have thought it could do a similar job on the badges. Just don't use so much it comes squishing out the sides. Just my 2p.

I've just fitted a pair of Paul Matty Bezels to my car (with original badges) and it was a pain....... Reproduction bezels are slightly smaller which took a couple of hours of careful sanding the badge to make fit, once they did fit i used a line of PU glue (i was going to use 3m badge tape but it held the badge off the bezel slightly so i could see a gap)

Another note is the centre pin on the PM bezel was in a slightly different position, the two end pins are in the correct positions so not really end of world stuff.

I was a little disappointed at the quality of the PM Bezels but with a bit of messing they look presentable (better than the corroded originals anyway) it was the plastic clips that bugged me tbh, they held the Bezel off the car so there was a gap under it so with some searching managed to get hold of some original clips and now no gap.

I found that out just after i'd layered a nice even bed of adhesive on the back of the badge!

Always dry fit test from now on

Has anyone any experience of using this?

A restorer friend has said he just uses standard epoxy for the job but seems a bit final to me if the badge moves as its going off....

I noticed when I removed the championship badges from my S3 FHC fort it's body restoration that the badges were not affixed to the bezels at all. Instead the badges were backed with closed cell foam about 1/8" thick, and were held in place by the bezel. The foam kept the badge tight and rattle free. Also, to be clear, the foam pad was affixed to the body, not the badge.

That is unusual I have never heard of anything like that before.
