S4 Rear Wing Badge

Hi all,
Need info please.
Have just purchased at great expense a rear wing S4 badge [My car has never had one] after 23 years of ownership. To my horror it does not appear to be a complete arrangement, looks like I have only received a flat S4 badge insert.
Am I correct, is this flat badge supposed to go into some sort of bezel that does have the prongs to mount into the body.
If so I have wasted my money as I don't have one
I can easily Sikaflex to body but it doesn't look right.

if you have just the insert then you maybe need the following part from Kelvedon Lotus see link below

Not cheap though for what they are

R.D. Enterprises in the US also has all the badges and plinths - rdent.com
36B6188 for $49.
When I fitted mine last year I couldn't find a thin headed bolt that would fit the recess in the plinth. Not even close. However, I could find a nut that would fit the recess, although not thin enough to fit flush. So in the end I made a couple of bolts by (1) cutting the head off a suitably sized bolt (2) JB Weld-ing the correct size nut onto the now headless bolt to make a new bolt (3) grinding down the nut (now the new head of the bolt) so that it fit flush with the recess.
Much ado about not much. But at least it was then easy to bolt the badges in place from inside the boot/trunk. I consider this to be a botch, but a solid and neat one - and certainly better than the wood screws that were stuck in the plinths when I extracted them from the box of parts that came with the car.

Hi elanman, Rob and elanner,
Thanks for the needed info its not good news but looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get the plinth otherwise all I have is a very light paperweight.
This has turned out to be a very expensive little bauble and will be too valuable to place on the car. LOL
Thanks again fellas

I think I may have one of those, but I need to check. Seem to remember coming across one while looking for something else a few weeks ago. If you bear with me I'll have a rummage around tomorrow.

Yes Please.
That would be great if you have.
Very kind of you to think of me.
I await with nervous anticipation.

Here's what I have, which I think is the one you need. However there is some pitting, which I hope you can see on the pictures. One long edge is clean, so that if the frame was turned around so that this was at the top then it would look better. There is a little pitting on the sides though. I don't know if you can get these re-chromed or not.
As you can see one of the locating pins on the back is only half length, but I don't think that matters much.
Anyway you're welcome to it for the cost of p&p. No idea what that might be to Oz

Hi Dave, yup no probs, got your pm, just give me a bit of time to pack it up and get it to the PO. Once I find out the postage I'll pm you the cost. PayPal is fine, will let you know my email address.
Hope it meets your requirements,
ps. Funny that you have the same name as my best mate at school. You didn't go to school in Newton Abbot did you?
