Hi,
I remember reading a while ago that there were plans for a reprint of Brian's excellent book on rebuilding an Elan. Just wondered if anybody had any news. I would like a copy but am unwilling to pay the silly ebay prices being asked?

Hello Carl,
Brian has been rewriting a few chapters, he is nearly finished.
I think the second edition will be available in 4 to 6 months time.

Thanks Guillermo... I sent Brian a message to see if he had any plans to produce an electronic version although I realise this means it might be too easy to 'copy'...

ya know folks: there's just way to much hype about this "book" imo, and it's really worth the 50quid it used to cost at the lotus club. it's like with cook books: you have to have a lot of knowledge yourself before you can really use all of these bibles. so go ahead and buy a copy for 1500$ and still being left alone and happy to know us here where EXPERIENCE with exactly these little jewels makes the difference. its also TTR, Matty, QED, Kelsport, sue Miller, Burton etc.. but to make someone rely on this book is to say the least worrying sandy

Miles Twin Cam book started going for silly money until a new edition at a sensible price came out.. I hope Brian's second edition also comes out at a sensible price?

It will come at a sensible price. Brian wants to help, not to cash in ...
I will cost a bit more as 50 GBP was the price of 2006, making the book - even done digitally and so on - cost a bit more than then.

Hello Sandy,
when you say
>but to make someone rely on this book is to say the least worrying
you might be right, but to put things in perspective:
it is called "Addendum Engineering Workshop manual".
So, no substitute for workshop manual.
