Thought I'd post this as I thought these were NLA/ unobtainable new until my research. Here's a source for any looking for new bonnet lock cables with the proper handle and "bonnet lock" notated per the originals.
Listed as boncable1 on www.jrwadhams.co.uk. I believe it crosses with a Rover P4 part. Cable may be used as is or end may require some trimming/shortening for an elan, not sure

Thanks,

I'm guessing that they are not quite exactly the same as original Lotus. Steve, Alfalofa, who, sadly is no longer with us, sent me several that he had salvaged from wreckers. I believe they were from Rover's. Anyway the shape of the handle wasn't quite the same so if you were going to use these you might have to order two for the cars that require them to get a matched set. I acquired a used original and had one so I returned the ones he sent me.

Best holiday wishes to all.

Hello Ron, I think the heater knob/cable was a special for Lotus. The knob was from Ford, the ends unscrew and a new picture (flames) can be inserted. However the rest of the cable is different I think?

I'm not aware that the heater knob is removable (although I've never tried) I believe it is part of the cable but happy to be proved wrong.
I believe the choke knob is also part of the cable.
Re: removing the "window" .....I tried this on a choke cable and destroyed it although I believe Gary Anderson has a post where he did it.......maybe there are more the one type???
