Another addition to the stable

Once again I'm all excited. Another Lotus joins the stable. This S2 Elan had been in a barn and garage since 1974. Over 42 years without being moved. A true diamond in the rough! Painted once in red but appears to have been originally yellow. It's in line behind the Blue 66 S2 SE, the 67 White Coupe, and the 69 Type 54 Europa.

Congratulations, Frank! You have so many to work on - just send the blue S2/SE to us and we will take that off your hands so you can start on the others.

We need to make a trip over to see the collection.

Termites got the steering wheel?

Those look like Massachusetts plates. Good luck on the chassis.

So what Ohio barn did the Lotus come from?
I have a set of that style Ohio plate hanging in my garage-they came from my grandfather's car.

Looks good Frank. Looks like my kind of project. If you decide that you have too many projects in line let me know. I'm down to my last one.

Good to see another S2 elan being brought back to life, the prettiest elan of all. I can remember the trailer load of junk (The wife's words) I brought home in early 1981. Aussie racers will recognise the car as it once belonged to Murray Bryden, see photo below. And what the car looks like to today... Now an S2 with lots of street cred, and a great car to drive. Good luck with the resto Mate.

Very old Rohan, I'm guessing mid 1970s.. not sure, but things have sure changed at Winton since then.
