Snow Day

We had a nice snow storm here in the North East. Of course it shut just about everything down over the weekend but I'm one of those that doesn't fret over these things and just goes along for the ride.

After getting the driveway and the steps into the house clear this morning I thought the light looked good and would be a good time to take some photos of my S1 in the snow. It didn't like being "woken up" from the cold. Never the less, I had a patient model letting me take a few angles before being tucked back inside.

I like it, it would have been a real shame to miss the opportunity.

Doesn't look like you got off to badly, Glen. The way the TV was sounding you folks would be buried. Looks like just a nice winter scene!

Well La Guardia had 26" & I have been stranded in a hotel in North Carolina since Friday lunchtime... If I'm lucky I'll get back into La Guardia at 4pm tomorrow & have to dig my car out...

Newark airport got 30" of snow. My flight to LA tomorrow got canceled and no flights available until Tuesday night. Over 12,000 flights canceled this weekend due to the storm. Good weekend to catch up on house projects inside

No snow, 45 deg. in the sun - out for a top down ride about my back roads.

May I ship you a surplus shovel?

Bill

Just a light dusting down here in Etlanna, and pretty much gone by sundown Saturday.

Sunday was 50-ish and sunny so I got out there and started on ripping the old carpet, insulation, mouse-skeletons, etc. out of the Plus 2:

But, hey, It's got to be just a nice winter scene! :D

Well, I guess 26 and 30 is a bit much!
Got caught coming back from South Carolina last winter....they just don't have the equipment. I would think they could share with people that do like the electric company's.

On the other hand, a pair of Lotus-enthusiasts I know here in Atlanta tried to drive up to Detroit for the auto show over the weekend. They took a BMW but got stuck in too-deep snow in Kentucky, where they spent a couple of days in a hotel while waiting for things to clear...and they were stuck in a dry county unfortunately!

Glen - Great photos, fortunately Princeton is a fair distance from the dreadful coastal flooding in other areas of New Jersey. Boston just got enough to make shoveling necessary but nothing out of the ordinary.

Nice photos..

We got hammered with snow (5-6" is a lot for us) and ice in Nashville. Temps in the teens to 20's but that didn't stop me from firing up my twincam for the first time after a lengthy rebuild (better part of a year). After some electrical troubleshooting with points, fired right up on my stand with 70 psi of oil pressure. What a glorious moment and sound! Wake the neighbors :D

The only pic I could locate right now..stand and massive radiator were donated by a kind friend.

Well, I'm getting to the age that I don't look forward to snow so that I can go out and play in it but it can be kinda pretty as Glens photos show.
We had hoar frost on all the trees Saturday morning...the stuff you get after a cold fog. All the trees looking like giant cotton ball's. That was followed by a clear night with a full moon reflecting off the snow. Bright enough you could drive with the lights off.

Yeah, you guys in warm climates don't know what your missing! :D

Kurt.

Glen,

Nice pictures, great looking car, cool !

S1 Federal - why only two rear lights each side ?

Should'nt there be two more reflectors there as also ?

Regards,

Phil.

Thanks for the complements Phil.
I have a very early S1. I think the early cars all came this way ? I'm sure the historians of the group will chime in.
